Welcome to "Science Ambassador Program," a service of Bio-Rad Laboratories. Please note that these Program Terms of Use apply to this section of bio-rad.com (bio-rad.com/scienceambassadors) in addition to the Site Terms and Privacy Policy generally applicable to bio-rad.com. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT LEGAL DOCUMENT. IT GOVERNS YOUR USE OF THE SCIENCE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM (" program") AND THESE WEB PAGES. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY. Throughout this Agreement, references to the "Site" refer only to those pages of the bio-rad.com/scienceambassadors site and not to other portions of the bio-rad.com site, which are governed by separate Site Terms. By using this website, whether or not you register to use the services of our program, you accept all the terms and conditions below.
Purpose of this Service
"Bio-Rad Science Ambassador Program" is a project by Bio-Rad Laboratories that helps teachers connect with scientists, who are willing to volunteer and use a pre-packaged Bio-Rad kit.
General Provisions
The Web is an evolving medium; we may change these Program Terms of Use from time to time. By continuing to use the service after we post any such changes, you accept the Program Terms of Use, as modified. We may change, restrict access to, suspend, or discontinue operation of this service, or any portion of this service, at any time. Bio-Rad Laboratories respects the privacy of our users. Please take a few minutes to review our Privacy Policy.
This website will permit you to browse, access and use certain content, features and/or functionality without registration. However, if you are a scientist volunteering to make your expertise available to schoolteachers through this service, or a schoolteacher seeking to contact a scientist who has volunteered his or her services, you will be required to register as a member of the Science Ambassador program.
Eligibility for Registration: YOU MUST BE AT LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE TO REGISTER AS A MEMBER OF THE SCIENCE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM. Membership is void where prohibited. BY REGISTERING AS A MEMBER, YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT: (i) YOU HAVE THE RIGHT, AUTHORITY AND CAPACITY TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT AND TO ABIDE BY ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH HEREIN, ii) YOU HAVE NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY IN THE LAST SEVEN YEARS RELATING TO THEFT, FRAUD, VIOLENCE OR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, AND (iii) YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY REQUIRED TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER WITH ANY STATE OR GOVERNMENT ENTITY.
There are separate registration pages for scientists and teachers; please register through the appropriate page by providing all information requested. As part of the registration process, you will be required to provide a your name, work email, and password. You may not include in your registration information any telephone numbers, personal/home street addresses, or personal email addresses. All information you include in your member profile must be accurate, current and complete. Once registered, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login and password, and for all activities that occur under your login, with or without your knowledge. If you knowingly provide your login and password to another person, your member privileges may be suspended or terminated. You agree to immediately notify Bio-Rad Laboratories of any unauthorized use of your login or password.
Either Bio-Rad Laboratories or you may terminate your membership in the Bio-Rad Science Ambassador Program service at any time, for any or no reason. You may terminate your membership by logging into your profile page and opt out. Upon expiration or termination of your membership (whether by Bio-Rad Laboratories, or by you), your member profile will cease to be made publicly available through the site, and you will have no further rights to use or access the features, functionality and/or content available only to registered members on this site.
Information and Functionality Provided Through the Site
The material that appears on this site is for informational purposes only. We reserve the right to modify, add or remove content, features and/or functionality available through the site, at any time, in our sole discretion.
Your Interactions with Other Members
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT BIO-RAD LABORATORIES CURRENTLY DOES NOT CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS OR INQUIRE INTO THE BACKGROUNDS OF ITS MEMBERS OR ATTEMPT TO VERIFY THE STATEMENTS OF ITS MEMBERS. BIO-RAD LABORATORIES MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES AS TO THE CONDUCT OF MEMBERS. BIO-RAD LABORATORIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR OTHER SCREENINGS (SUCH AS SEX OFFENDER REGISTER SEARCHES) AT ANY TIME USING AVAILABLE PUBLIC RECORDS, BUT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO DO SO. IN NO EVENT SHALL BIO-RAD LABORATORIES BE LIABLE FOR, AND YOU HEREBY WAIVE, ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, GENERAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY, CONSEQUENTIAL, AND/OR INCIDENTAL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF YOU OR ANYONE ELSE IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, BODILY INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, AND/OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES RESULTING FROM COMMUNICATIONS OR MEETINGS WITH OTHER USERS OF THIS SERVICE. YOU AGREE TO TAKE REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS IN ALL INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE SERVICE. YOU SHOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION (FOR EXAMPLE, YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION) TO OTHER MEMBERS.
Ownership and Permissions
This site and the contents thereof (including but not limited to the educational kits and presentations, interfaces, files, graphics, text and data found on the site) is the property of and owned by Bio-Rad Laboratories or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws of the United States and other countries. Bio-Rad Laboratories grants you a revocable license to display and electronically copy, download and print hard copy versions of the material contained on the site for your personal and noncommercial use, provided you do not modify or delete any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice that appears on the material you copy, download or print. No other use of any of the contents of the site is licensed, and you agree that you will not make any other use of the material on the site, including but not limited to the copying, modification, distribution, transmission, performance, broadcast, publication, licensing, reverse engineering, transfer or sale of, or the creation of derivative works from, any of the contents of the site. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Bio-Rad Laboratories and its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors and suppliers, from and against any and all losses, liabilities, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs, arising or resulting from any violation of these Program Terms of Use. If you cause a technical disruption of the site or the systems transmitting the site to you or others, you agree to be responsible for any and all losses, liabilities, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs, arising or resulting from that disruption.
Jurisdiction
Bio-Rad Laboratories is organized under the laws of the State of California in the United States of America, and this site is operated in the United States. The laws of the State of California, without reference to the principles of conflicts of law thereof, govern these Program Terms of Use and your use of the site, and you irrevocably consent to the jurisdiction of the courts located in the City and State of California for any action to enforce these Program Terms of Use. In the event of any legal action arising from or relating to these Program Terms of Use or your use of the site, you hereby waive the right to a jury trial. We recognize that it is possible for you to obtain access to this site from any jurisdiction in the world, but we have no practical ability to prevent such access. This site has been designed to comply with the laws of the State of California and of the United States. If any material on this site, or your use of the site, is contrary to the laws of the place where you are when you access it, the site is not intended for you, and we ask you not to use the site. You are responsible for informing yourself of the laws of your jurisdiction and complying with them.
Changes to These Program Terms of Use
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to change these Program Terms of Use at any time by posting revised terms on the site. It is your responsibility to check periodically for any changes we may make to these Program Terms of Use. Your continued use of this site following the posting of changes to these terms or other policies means you accept the changes.
Miscellaneous
If any provision of this agreement is unlawful, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the agreement will remain in place. These Program Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and Bio-Rad Laboratories with respect to use of the website and the contents thereof, superseding all prior or contemporaneous communications. A printed version of these Program Terms of Use shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based on or relating to use of the website to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form. You agree that there shall be no third-party beneficiaries to this Agreement.
